I love double posts! It's just like multi-tasking, which is pretty much what I do everyday. Thank you to Chandy@ What Now Tablescapes for hosting this week's Thrifty Thursday and to Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch for another Tablescape Thursday. Please be sure to visit these lovely ladies to view their posts and see more participants.
Today's tablescape theme is a spring ladies brunch which was done mostly with vintage thrift shop, estate sale, and garage sale finds.
This was one of my most challenging posts because almost all the tableware is made of clear glass, which I found most difficult to photograph.
Now, I know you must have seen a lot of these glass luncheon plates at antique shops and thrift shops. They must have been very popular at one time, because they're everywhere. I have about 24 of these plates which I've picked up at an estate sale and thrift shops. I didn't pay more than $8 for all of them. They're cheaper than paper plates!
The lotus flower bowls and the quilt were Goodwill finds.
The napkin ring is made of very delicate capiz shell from the Philippines.
I hope you're able to see these next pictures okay. I have a number of these etched plates that I found during my thrift shop jaunts for roughly 50 cents each. This one is my favorite with the Victorian lady etching.
I got this white footed dish at a yard sale for $5. I know, it doesn't sound like much of a deal, but I've seen them at antique dealers for about $26. I'm not really sure what it is. It's shaped like a taco. I'm guessing it's a fruit bowl.
Last is my little cow creamer that I picked up from a discount home store for a couple of bucks.
Thanks for dropping by today! Be sure to check back in tomorrow for Foodie Friday when I'll have this tablescape plated for a delicious spring brunch. See you tomorrow!

Those etched plates are amazing! The one with the door knocker is my favorite. They really are cheaper than paper plates, now, aren't they? :)
Omgsh! I love those glass plates!!! They are so cool! And that taco shaped thing is meant to resemble those old fashioned Victorian flower baskets :) You can Google that and find some really neat picture of what people have done with them!
All the best,
Allison

Your etched plates look lovely atop the quilt table cloth. The table for the luncheon looked very springy!
You are brave to photograph clear plates, and you did it very well. I love those rectangular luncheon plates; haven't seen those around here but they are darling.
And the etched plates -- so very pretty. Lovely table, right down to the beautiful quilt as the table cover. Gorgeous!
Thanks -- Cass
I love the quilt in your tablescape and I know what you mean about photographing clear plates. You just seem to get glimmer shots no matter what, but you did a great job.

I had a whole set of those glass luncheon plates - but sold them to a friend when she said she had the same pattern and couldn't find more.
I could see the etching in the victorian glass plates - how lovely!
