Hey everyone, it's Thrifty Thursday again where all in blogland are welcome to showcase their fabulous finds! Please visit the fun and fabulous Leigh @ Tales From Bloggeritaville for more fun posts.
Now those of you who "know" me, know how much I love the thrill of the hunt, whether it be from a yard sale, thrift shop, or flea market, these fab finds all have a history and a story to tell. Most of the time, I have my eyes peeled for a piece of furniture, linens, or china, but this time I ventured off from the typical routine of going up and down the aisles at Granny's Attic ( a favorite antique mall) and paid closer attention to the smaller, locked cases containing jewelry and other small knick knacks.
Well, I'm not really a jewelry type of gal, unless it's vintage or a family heirloom, but something unique caught my eye.
It's pretty heavy for it's size and the shape of it intrigued me.
Upon further inspection, I gently pulled at the top, and this little glass cylinder appeared.
It's a little perfume bottle attached to a delicate chain. Isn't that just the cutest?
I just had to have it. And at just $6 - Sold!
Hope you enjoyed my little trinket. Thanks for stopping by and please say hello. I love hearing from you!
Till next time,

Hi Lorna, glad to be able to visit you again. I couldn't see most of your blog the last few days. Some others were like that too.
Your trinket is precious! How fun is that to have a quick access to perfume! Pretty!
As for the dishes, don't worry about the actual dishes. You can use the same ones over and over and just play with your centerpiece design. You have a great collection and I can see endless possibilites with the ones you used. ;-)
What a neat little necklace and such a great find! Way to go!
I tend to go for the linen and china isles too...maybe I need to venture over to the jewelry case!
Lorna,
It IS a unique piece. I beleive it is called a "poison" necklace. Ya know, like if you were a character from the game clue, at the dinner party you would pull the vial out and slip poison into the drink of an ill fated enemy.
That's what I have always heard them called. Really cool conversation piece!
What a cool necklace! I love unique things, and yard sales are the BEST place to find them!
BTW, love your blog! Had to follow along....
Lorna,
I love your new trinket. I love that Leigh said it is called a poison necklace. Gives it a lot more mystery. I love Granny's Attic. It is my favorite antique place to shop in Temecula. And their prices aren't too bad. Thanks for sharing your necklace & thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment. And Chandy is right, just use your same dishes & change up the centerpiece. The centerpiece is the funnest part of tablescaping anyways (IMHO).
That is indeed a cool cool find! I don't normally look at jewelry, but I would have totally taken that apart to investigate LOL
That is so pretty! My mom had one of those I loved playing with it..lol. I like the pearl on there :)
All the best,
Allison
I love it. I did know what it was because I saw one before, only the one I saw was very plain and not nearly as nice as yours!!!
What a charming little treasure! Love this piece. I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Love your necklace. What a unique and fun find. $6.00 sounds like a great deal.
